I am a serial recipe collector. I have piles of cookbooks, and I probably have thousands of recipes saved to my internet browser bookmarks.
As I mentioned in last week’s post, there are a lot of foods that I either don’t eat or actively try to avoid, but I absolutely love food, and cooking and trying new recipes.
As you can imagine, it is often a challenge to find recipes that meet my dietary requirements, so when I do find any, I save them!
I thought, there must be other people out there like me who would like to discover recipes for restricted/specific dietary needs, but don’t have the time/patience/motivation/etc. to scour the internet looking for recipes.
So I’ve decided to start sharing the recipes I come across here on the blog.
Due to my dietary requirements, for a long time I’ve gone without your usual sauces and dips such as ketchup, mayo, garlic mayo, etc. Most of the time it isn’t an issue, but there are times that I really wish I could use or add sauce to my meal.
Now that I’m in Tenerife and the climate is a lot warmer than the UK, I’ve been increasing my intake of salad. I also wanted to increase my intake of cabbage, both white and red (random I know), but didn’t fancy boiled or sauteed cabbage every night.
I thought wouldn’t it be great if I could make a coleslaw. But of course I then thought, what the hell am I going to do for mayonnaise?
So I set off on my usual Google search of recipes and came across not only a vegan friendly mayo recipe, but a few other sauce and dip recipes along the way:
Garlic Herb Sauce (The recipe is part of another recipe)
I hope you enjoy the sauces/dips and they add a whole new dimension to your culinary experience.
