How has your first full week of February been?
Despite spending an enjoyable weekend with friends, I started my week feeling flat and unable to motivate myself to do anything.
Thankfully, I managed to shake the feeling by Tuesday morning and my week has been fairly productive since then.
I had another meeting with the Atlantic Whale Foundation (AWF) and I am officially part of the team. I’ll be working on a very exciting project which I will share more about as it develops.
It is currently a voluntary role, but every major progression or change I’ve made in my life was triggered by volunteering so I’m feeling optimistic.
I hope you’re also ending the week feeling positive and optimistic.
Here are my #FridayFavs for this week:
Earlier this week I was hit by a strong wave of wanderlust, and then I came across this post. I now know lots of ladies living in Spain so I’m thinking a road trip to these places would be very cool.
Actually, I’ll be going for 2 weeks in September to visit my maternal family but I also plan to be a tourist so this guide is perfect.
If you know me, you’ll know I’m mad about hot chocolate and as I’ve recently started adding herbs to my diet, this recipe is perfect for me to try. I am sceptical about the flavour, but you don’t know until you try, right?!

I love this expression of self-love from these ladies – and of course the fact that they’re rapping over Queen Bey’s track ‘Ego’ adds an extra touch of magic! I can’t rap, but I am inspired to write my own version.
After an impromptu post on Instagram, the amazing Dal Kular composed this powerful poem from contributions made by a handful of women in her comment section, including one from me.
So it seems there’s a good reason why people are raving about this book You are a Badass and sharing pics of it all over Instagram. Yet another book to add to my Amazon wishlist!
I’ve read about the power of affirmations for years, but I only started using them – and posting them daily to Instagram at the start of the year. Initially, it can feel strange and a little self-indulgent, but over time, they begin to work their magic.
And finally, tonight there is not only a full moon but also an eclipse so be sure to make time for settling down with your journal and doing any rituals.
Currently on repeat…
Long Live The Angels (Deluxe) by Emeli Sandé
The Complete Stories (P.S.) by Zora Neale Hurston
P.S. As Valentine’s is only a few days away, this week I shared my tips on how you can practise self-love and be your own valentine.
Have a FAB weekend!
